An Art-Lover’s Small & Colorful LoftPosted by plumbingpros in Home Improvement Tips, on August 24, 2016
Erika Floysvik and her partner, Chris, were sold on this third-floor loft in Toronto’s East End when they realized it had enough room to display their art collection. See how they furnished the 1,140-square-foot space with their most treasured pieces, a sophisticated use of color, pattern and plenty of storage.
Large black-framed windows and 14-foot-high ceilings counteract the lack of space to create a bright and airy interior. The ceiling and exposed ductwork is painted white for a fresh look. Custom-built furniture suits the scale of the rooms, and a walnut storage unit transitions nicely into the kitchen area. A large gallery wall displays all of Erika and Chris’s artwork, while graphic wallpaper makes a bold statement in the bedroom.
