The Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative (HCEI) video commemorates the 10th Anniversary of HCEI and celebrates 10 years of progress toward Hawaii's leading-edge 100%-by-2045 clean energy goal. The video describes the unique energy challenges Hawaii faced a decade ago as the most oil-dependent state in the nation and celebrates its bold vision to transition to a clean energy economy within a single generation. Hawaii Gov. David Ige, Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism Director Luis Salaveria, Hawaiian Electric Industries CEO Connie Lau, and Jennifer DeCesaro, Director of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy's Technology-to-Market Program, highlight how, through its successful partnership with DOE and collaboration with local businesses, policymakers and concerned citizens, Hawaii has become the nation's leading test bed for energy transformation, charting a course for others to follow.
