Interior Design – A Glamorous Family-Friendly Home

Posted by in Home Improvement Tips, on September 29, 2015

Designer Jessica Waks shares how she created a timeless home that’s both glamorous and appropriate for a family. See how she incorporates pattern and metallics into a classic color palette, while adding a mix of old and new.

The 1930s home features Georgian influences, which became the foundation of the overall design. Jessica started with a black and white palette and injected bold colors to make the house more kid-friendly. A comfy bold blue sectional sofa sits in the family room, while pops of red accent the kitchen and breakfast area. A second-floor den is feminine but cozy with mint walls and black furniture. Glamorous old Hollywood influences are found throughout the home. The living room has a mix of black and white, animal prints, and heirlooms that Jessica received from her grandmother.
