Interior Design — Colorful Small Home MakeoverPosted by plumbingpros in Home Improvement Tips, on November 5, 2017
A Toronto century home with a long and narrow layout gets a main floor makeover by designer Philippe Beauparlant. Learn his tips for creating a functional floor plan, and discover how he modernized the dated home. Plus, see the home’s standout feature wall! The home lacked a defined entryway, so Philippe added floor-to-ceiling cabinetry and a patterned cement tile walkway to create the illusion of a vestibule. The living room fireplace gets a modern makeover, while old furniture is replaced with new pieces to fit the small space. In the dining area, a unique wall made of terracotta brick makes a statement, and segments the room from the stairway. Just off the dining room, a pocket door conceals the powder room for added privacy. Philippe completely transformed the drab kitchen with additional counter space, as well as large windows and doors for more natural light. A backyard retreat offers an outdoor oasis in the middle of the city.
